Questions Before You Start

Clear answers about what Kairo is, how it works, and what to expect.

About Kairo

Kairo is a career strategy and representation service. It helps you understand your current position, strengthen your professional value, improve timing and positioning, and make better decisions around growth, promotion, market movement, negotiation, and long-term career leverage.

Kairo works from the client side. Recruiters usually serve employer hiring needs. Kairo focuses on your positioning, timing, negotiation context, and long-term career decisions.

Client-side means Kairo is designed around your career interest, not employer hiring targets, recruiter incentives, or short-term movement for its own sake.

Compensation can be one outcome, but Kairo looks at broader career value: role growth, mandate clarity, recognition, market positioning, optionality, timing, and decision quality.

Kairo is for people who want to manage their career deliberately rather than drift through it. The service is not defined by a specific title or seniority level. The starting point is whether there is a meaningful career decision, positioning gap, or trajectory question to examine.

Trajectory Audit

The Trajectory Audit is Kairo’s starting point. It reviews your role, scope, value signals, recognition gaps, market positioning, and timing to help identify what may be constraining your career trajectory.

It may look at your current role, actual responsibility, evidence of value created, visibility, recognition, mandate alignment, promotion readiness, market readability, compensation context, and whether the next move should be to build, ask, wait, explore, or move.

The audit is a diagnostic and strategy process, not an outcome guarantee. It is designed to clarify where you stand, what may be constraining progress, and what action may make sense next.

Kairo reviews the information and determines whether a Trajectory Audit is the right starting point. If appropriate, the next step is an audit conversation or review process based on your situation.

Simulator

The Simulator compares managing your career alone with a Kairo-supported path over time. It also estimates Net Gain: what you may keep after Kairo fees, based on the numbers you enter.

The Simulator is an estimate, not a guarantee. It is designed to show how timing, positioning, options, and negotiation structure may affect career value over time under the numbers you enter.

On the Simulator, Net Gain means the estimated additional value you may retain after Kairo fees. See Fees & economics for how this is defined in an engagement.

Confidentiality and boundaries

Kairo treats career, compensation, employer, and decision information as confidential by default.

Employer or third-party contact happens only with explicit authorization. Kairo does not contact managers, employers, recruiters, or third parties as part of intake or audit review without permission.

Kairo is not a profile marketplace. Your information is used to assess your position, options, timing, and representation strategy, not to sell access to your profile.

Kairo does not need access to employer systems. You should not provide confidential company material unless it is appropriate and permitted.

Kairo is designed to work from the client side, not the employer side. Its economics are defined through the client engagement, not employer placement fees.

Fees and economics

Kairo may use a retainer, success-linked economics, or other engagement terms depending on scope. The exact model is confirmed before formal representation begins and is governed by the engagement letter.

Net Gain means the estimated additional value retained by the client after Kairo’s fees are accounted for. It is a way to think about whether representation creates more value than it costs.

That depends on the engagement. It may include compensation changes, offer improvements, role or mandate changes, or other defined outcomes. The exact definition is set in the engagement letter.

Not automatically. The engagement letter defines what is included, what is excluded, and how any success-linked amount is calculated.

The answer depends on timing, scope, and whether Kairo’s work contributed to the outcome. The engagement letter defines how this is handled.

Engagement terms

The engagement letter defines the scope, fees, confidentiality obligations, exclusions, decision rights, payment timing, and any success-linked calculations.

Some terms depend on the scope of work and the client’s situation. Kairo keeps public pages simple and uses the engagement letter for precise terms.

Some engagements may include a tail period for outcomes connected to Kairo’s work. If applicable, the duration and terms are defined in the engagement letter.

Termination rights and obligations depend on the engagement scope and are defined in the engagement letter.

Public pages explain the principles. Exact terms, calculations, exclusions, obligations, and legal mechanics are governed by the engagement letter.

Outcomes and guarantees

Kairo does not promise specific outcomes such as compensation increases, promotions, offers, or role changes. The work is designed to improve clarity, positioning, leverage, decision quality, and representation.

The right move is not always movement. Sometimes the stronger decision is to stay, build signal, clarify mandate, or wait for a better moment.

What Kairo is not

Kairo may help sharpen your professional narrative where relevant, but the work is broader than resume writing. The focus is on career strategy, positioning, timing, and representation.

Kairo is structured around career diagnostics, strategy, and representation. It is not motivational coaching or generic career advice.
